Writer, stylist and photographer with over two decades in publishing, Darra Baker finds and produces stories without expiration dates: freshness and immediacy paired with timeless impact and result.
Twelve years as the West Coast Director for the renowned Paris-based international trend forecasting bureau de style, Promostyl, refined Baker’s intuitive ability to sense cultural directions while keeping her own work adaptive, informed and forward moving. She is recipient of the prestigious New York Art Director’s Award and Western Publisher’s Association Maggie awards for her work as an on-staff editor in home/garden design, outdoor and surf publications.
Influenced by her strong native Southern California roots, thirst for color (found especially in Mother Nature), and years spent in Brazil and Europe; Baker welcomes all new projects with a cooperative enthusiasm, a wide open world view and an unmatched work ethic.
Her mission: to create and record beauty in all forms. Her goal: to have fun doing it.
